I can’t believe it’s 2016, I feel like this past year just flew by! 2015 was a great year for me – The Dapper Girl was created, I started a new job, I witnessed my first home (and pool) being built from start to finish, and I bought tons of make up 😉 along with many more great and exciting ventures! I can’t wait for what 2016 has in store and I’m sure many more beauty products will make its way into my collection! Here are the beauty products I was loving for the month of December, some old, some new! What beauty products have you been loving lately? Anything I need to get my hands on? Let me know in the comments below! – Crystal

NYX – Slip Lip Pencil – Natural – I love this NYX lip pencil, it’s the perfect versatile nude shade. It can be paired with any nude lipstick or liquid lipstick and its great for overdrawing your lips as well. This lip pencil is the perfect “on trend” nude lip color and the pencil itself is pigmented and creamy. I have end worn it on its own and it looks like perfection! These lip pencils are great and affordable, if you haven’t checked them out you should!
MAC – Stuido Fix Powder Plus Foundation (C4.5) – I have never owned a MAC powder foundation before, so I wanted to try this one out. I normally wear liquid foundations, but I like to use powder foundations when I’m in a rush and I don’t have time to do my make up or just on days where I’m going to be running errands or just going to go to the gym. I love this powder, its finely milled, smooth, and never looks cakey or powdery on the skin. I will be purchasing more powder foundations from MAC, I’ve heard the mineralize skinfinish powders are great but less coverage, so I feel like those would be great to set the whole face. Do you use powder foundations? If so what are your favorites I should check out?
Becca – Champagne Glow Palette – So, I have some explaining to do with this haha! I wasn’t going to buy this palette because I already own Champage Pop, but while I was in Sephora I swatch the other two shades in the palette and just about fell out! I was in total awe when I swatched the highlight shade “Pearl”, it is stunning! If you have light to very fair skin, you need this highlight shade in your life. It is the lightest highlight that I have ever swatched that would look absolutely perfect on those with light/fair skin tones. I like to use it combined with Champagne Pop or on its own on the highest point of my check bones. The palette also comes with a “blush topper” shade Blushed Copper and it looks so beautiful swept across the checks for a warm glow. The palette was limited edition but you can still purchase Pearl and Blushed Copper!
Freeman – Charcoal & Black Sugar Facial Polishing Mask – I have been using this face mask for years and I always go back to this one! I don’t necessarily use it as a “mask” but I do use it as an exfoliant. I started really using it a lot last month when I was running low on my Mario Badescu Botanical Exfoliating Scrub. I think that this sugar scrub does an amazing job at exfoliating your skin and leaves it smooth and soft without it being to harsh. When you do use it as a mask it has a self heating property to help purify the skin, and the scrub leaves your skin so silky smooth. I love this product and to be honest I probably won’t be re-purchasing the Mario Badescu, this mask is 1/2 the price and does just good job if not better!
Milani – Backed Powder Blush – Another oldie but goodie I pulled out of my collection this month. I LOVE this blush. If you don’t own this blush, just stop reading – trust me, and go by it! Actually just buy all the baked blushes from Milani they are amazing! My favorite shade from this blush line is Luminoso, it is the most perfect peachy blush with a hint of pink and gives the most perfect glowy sheen. This blush truly does make you look like you are glowing from within. It goes perfect paired with any make up look and would look beautiful on any skin tone. You cannot go wrong this this blush in your collection!
L’Oreal – Revitalift Miracle Blur Instant Skin Smoother (Oil-Free) – To be honest, I didn’t like this product when I first tired it out! I felt like it just sat on top of my skin and made my make up break up, so it just sat in my make up drawer for quite a while until one day I mixed it in with my face moisturizer. Hallelujah I found a way to make this product work! I REALLY like this skin smoother mixed in with my moisturizers, it really sinks into the skin that way and makes your skin so smooth looking and blurred out lines and pores. I also didn’t have an issue with it breaking up my make up, so if you have this product and didn’t like it try mixing it in with your moisturizer and give it another shot! What are your favorite skin smoothers or pore fillers?
