August Beauty Favorites

Too Faced – Born This Way Foundation  – I wanted to give this Born this Way foundation a shot because of all the great reviews, and lets be honest us beauty junkies are always looking for the “next best” foundation to give us that flawless skin. This foundation is medium to full coverage and oil-free and supposed to be “undetectable” on the skin. However, not truly undetectable, still an awesome foundation! However, I have oily skin and did notice that it worked better when I set it with a powder because I still got quite oily in my t-zone with this foundation, but I do love it for the coverage, finish and longevity! This foundation looks beautiful on the skin, applies easily, and lasts a long time! Another plus is that it didn’t sink into fine lines or pores. Too Faced did a wonderful job creating this foundation, it does live up to the hype, and they have a wide shade range and are coming out with more shades this fall, so thumbs up to that!

Lara Geller – Illuminator, Gilded Honey  – Obsessed! I cannot stop using this Laura Geller highlighter! It is truly perfection. If you are looking for that perfect golden highlight, look no further. Check out my full review here.

Jordana – Lipliner in Rock N’ Rose – These liners are so affordable and are really good quality! Although they don’t last forever, they do last quite a while for such a great price, that it doesn’t bother me! I would say this lip liner from Jordana is a close dupe for MAC Spice, and these mauve brown nude shades are so on trend right now!  Also, check out the shade Tawny!

LUSH – Mask of Magnaminty – I’m still loving this Mask from LUSH. I love the way it feels when you apply it to the skin, this mask instantly gives you a refreshing minty sensation while pulling out all of your impurities. This mask makes my skin feel so clean and fresh after I using it! If you are interested in LUSH cosmetics or want to know more about what I think on this mask, check out my first impressions here.

The Balm – Meet Matte Nude Pallete – I’ve had this all matte pallete for quite sometime now and it is definitely one of my go-to palletes for everyday! I’m really into wearing all matte shadows right now, and you can create so many different looks with this. I love that there are warm, neutral, and cool shades. All of the shadows are soft, creamy and blend out so beautifully. None of the shadows skip or look chalky. This is a perfect pallete for everyday use!

Laura Mercier – Translucent Setting Powder – It took me a little bit to finally splurge and purchase this setting powder, but I’m so glad I did. This powder has now become my favorite under the eye setting powder, it has a sheer yellow undertone and looks flawless under the eye. It is so finely milled and looks so beautiful and natural on the skin, I have actually been using it to set my whole face when I’m going for a full matte face. If you are hesitant on the price, Laura Mercier also makes a travel size as well that would last a lifetime!

Essence – Nude Longlasting Lipstick, Cool Nude  – I picked up this lipstick on a whim at while shopping at Ulta, and I have to be honest I love it! And this lipstick is only around $3, score! While I didn’t get any other shades in the collection or swatch them, this one really swatched beautifully. While more on the sheer side, this shade is a “your lips but better” shade. It is perfect for a no make up, make up look and it is great to have for a flush of color on the lips if you are on the go! I was shocked by the formula at such a great price!

Morphe Brushes – M180 Tapered Powder Brush  – I have been loving Morphe brushes! I purchased a bunch a while back to try out, and I never really used this brush until this past month and I’m not sure why because I have been LOVING this brush. It is quite big, but its tapered so it makes applying bronzer so quick and easy!

Colour Pop- Ultra Matte Lipstick, Tulle – Colour Pop came out with matte liquid lipsticks recently and I bought 2 shades Tulle, and Trap just to see if I would like the formula of them. Tulle is a vampy red with brown, and purple undertones, this shade is going to be perfect for fall.  For just $6 these liquid lipsticks are a steal! The formula is great for the price. I like to wear a small amount of lip balm before applying any liquid lipstick so they are more comfortable to wear, it also helps with drying out and flaking.

OPI – Gelato on My Mind  – I currently have this color on my nails, and to be honest I’m more of a nude nail polish kind of girl but this shade of blue has been one of my favorite colors to wear for the month of August. I will probably go back to this shade next summer and bring out the more vampy colors for fall but I love this shade of blue.If you love pastel blues, or blue nail polish check out this shade!
